(UHI) provides university-level education through a unique partnership of thirteen colleges and research institutions located throughout the Highlands & Islands.

To support our work we have created this new role within the UHI Executive Office.

Academic Development Advisor (Archaeology)
Circa £31,292 pa

Applications are invited on an employed, secondment, job-share or consultancy basis.

The newly created Educational Development Unit (EDU) will support a UHI strategic initiative to enhance the student experience in the 21st Century by developing the curriculum in a blended format and extending opportunities for students to access its programmes.

An exciting opportunity exists within the EDU for an Academic Development Advisor to play a significant part in this project. Using your subject expertise, you will work with academic staff and a specialist team of developers to produce engaging blended learning materials and support staff in the delivery of these new materials.

You will be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge and expertise in your subject area archaeology; an understanding of learning and teaching pedagogy, particularly in the area of blended learning and elearning and an enthusiasm for student-centred learning.  The confidence to engage effectively with colleagues across the UHI network, good communication skills and the ability to think creatively will also be necessary for the post.

The contract term will be for approximately six months and a competitive salary is offered.

The closing date is Friday 22 June and interviews will be held week commencing 9 July 2012.
