The art and cultural landscape of the state capital Düsseldorf is characterised by internationally renowned museums, art galleries and an extraordinary exhibition scene. In recent years the NRW-Forum has developed an unique profile between photography, applied art, lifestyle, architecture and fashion.

In 2014 the state capital of Düsseldorf will be re-forming this institution located in the Ehrenhof Cultural Centre, accomplished under the former name NRW-Forum. The employer of the Düsseldorf Cultural Forum will be a company under private law.

This managerial function embraces the management and positioning of the institution in the Düsseldorf cultural landscape and also in the national and international context. We are looking for an internationally well connected, communicative personality with experience in the field of events and exhibitions.


The assignments will include:

Developing an artistic profile for the institution as event and exhibition scene with national and international charisma. The focus should lie on the fields of photography, new media, applied art, design, fashion, architecture and advertising.

Curating, pre- and post-processing of exhibitions on the focal themes

Fund raising, cultivating contact to patrons and sponsors

Representing the institution in the national and international cultural scene and presenting the public role of the forum in the Düsseldorf society.

Your profile:

Preferably a completed university education

Demonstrated artistic and entrepreneurial experience in exhibitions

Extensive know-how in the thematic fields of photography, new media, applied art and advertising, as well as interest in lifestyle topics

Experience in curating exhibitions and in organizing events

Excellent networking in the national and international cultural scene

Well-established commercial know-how and management experience

Communication and organisational skills

Experience in dealing with new communication media.
